Murder Mystery event in London's Belgravia

The Star Tavern, Belgravia

The Star Tavern is a historic and characterful pub tucked away in Belgrave Mews West, in the heart of Belgravia, London SW1X. Dating from 1848, the Grade II listed building has retained much of its traditional charm, including Victorian features, wood panelling and a cosy interior.

The pub is perhaps best known for its colourful connection with London’s criminal history. During the 1950s and 1960s, The Star became a meeting place for both celebrities and notorious figures. Most famously, it is associated with the planning of the 1963 Great Train Robbery. Bruce Reynolds and other members of the gang reportedly met at the pub while preparing for the robbery, which became one of Britain’s most notorious crimes.

Despite its dramatic past, The Star Tavern today is a welcoming traditional London pub. It offers a selection of beers, wines and spirits alongside a menu of fresh, seasonal pub food. The pub has also featured in every edition of CAMRA’s Good Beer Guide, a notable achievement shared by only a handful of pubs.

With its quiet cobbled setting, historic atmosphere and fascinating past, The Star Tavern remains a distinctive and much-loved part of Belgravia.
