Named after Prince Edward, Duke of Kent, who lived at nearby Castle Hill Lodge in 1801, this pub blends Georgian heritage with modern appeal. Its striking three-gabled facade and preserved interior, featuring wood paneling and distinct rooms, evoke a timeless charm. Renowned for its large beer garden, complete with a bar, BBQ, and table-tennis, it’s a summer favorite. The pub offers fresh, seasonal pub fare, fine wines, and cask ales, though reviews note inconsistent food quality and service. Community events like “Party in the Pub” and Shakespeare in the Garden enhance its local vibe. Dog-friendly and family-oriented, and it has a playground.
