The Birthday Party

This is a Murder Mystery format that is perfect for a birthday party. We can deliver it at your home, or at a hired venue such as a hotel or rented house.

The three actor version gives you a detective who acts as MC and two suspects. There are more suspects, but they are discussed rather than present. We have a five actor version which gives you four suspects and the detective. In addition there are five smaller roles played by your guests. You choose these people in advance and it can be a surprise. They are given their instructions by the detective on the night. They have a bit of background which includes how they knew the victim, and some key bits of information that they will share with everyone over the course of the evening. You probably already know which five friends would be good at this, and it is often hilarious. One of them, for example, might be a secret spy, or another might have a penchant for cross-dressing. We can make these roles bespoke, to fit people like a glove!

How a Murder Mystery Dinner Party works.

Our actors, posing as your friends, will mingle with the group. We will establish a plausible backstory as to how you know them in advance. Suddenly a detective arrives on a murder investigation; a guest on the way to the party has been found dead. This lasts for a couple of hours and it is very interactive, with lots of banter. It works well over food, either a sit-down meal, buffet or even pizza.

All of the content of our events is created to be appropriate for the audience, and we are sensitive to such things as religious beliefs. We also have a version that is suitable for children over the age of 10.
